Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and professional nursing standards. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assess patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition, reporting abnormalities promptly.
- Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
Patient Safety & Infection Control
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Follow medication safety practices and patient identification procedures.
- Ensure a safe and clean patient care environment.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and incident reporting.
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, doctors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide health education and discharge instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Coordinate patient care activities with other healthcare professionals.
Clinical Documentation
- Maintain nursing records, treatment charts, and reports accurately.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the hospital information system.
Emergency Response
- Identify and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
- Perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and assist in advanced resuscitation procedures when required.
Quality & Compliance
- Follow NABH, statutory, and hospital quality standards.
- Participate in audits, training programs, and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing / General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
Experience
- Fresher to 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience in specialty areas such as ICU, OT, Emergency, Ward, NICU, or Dialysis is preferred.
