Nursing Officer
About this role
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients and monitor vital signs, symptoms, and clinical condition.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions.
Monitor IV fluids, drains, catheters, oxygen therapy, and other clinical interventions.
Identify changes in patient condition and promptly report them to the treating doctor or senior nurse.
Maintain infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate PPE.
Ensure proper care, safety, comfort, and hygiene of patients.
Educate patients and relatives regarding medications, procedures, diet, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Handle and document medication, equipment, and nursing supplies appropriately.
Participate in emergency care, code/emergency response, and resuscitation as required.
Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, and applicable legal and professional standards.
Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing staff, technicians, and other departments.
Participate in shift handovers and ensure continuity of patient care.
Qualifications
Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing.
Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
Relevant hospital/clinical experience preferred; freshers may be considered depending on hospital requirements.
