About this role

Job Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for getting the prescribed drugs from OT stores.


  • Checks the correct label, expiry dates of the drugs, which are in use for anaesthesia and label them properly before giving the anaesthesia.


  • Keeps ready the following things ready for surgery.

a) ECG machine

b) Operation lights

c) Blood pressure apparatus 

d) Boyle’s apparatus with ventilator

e) Suction apparatus

f) Diathermy machine etc.


  • Helps the anesthetist during induction and recovery of the patient from anesthesia.


  • Responsible for returning the remaining unused drugs to the OT stores.


  • Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the theatre, boyle’s apparatus and operation table after every surgery with the help of house keeping staff. 


  • To assist the doctors, nurses during the surgery


  • To assist and train the other OT assistants
