The Staff Specialist – Critical Care Medicine is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role involves patient assessment, diagnosis, management of life-threatening conditions, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring optimal clinical outcomes while adhering to established protocols and quality standards.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill adult patients admitted to the ICU.
- Provide timely and appropriate treatment for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, multi-organ dysfunction, trauma, poisoning, and other critical illnesses.
- Perform and supervise critical care procedures including:
- Endotracheal intubation
- Central venous catheterization
- Arterial line insertion
- Mechanical ventilation management
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Bedside ultrasound procedures
- Tracheostomy care and related interventions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Monitor patient progress and modify management plans as clinically indicated.
- Manage medical emergencies and code blue situations within the hospital.
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation.
