Job Title: Staff Nurse / Registered Nurse
Department: Nursing
Location: Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor / Nurse Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, compassionate and quality nursing care to patients.
- Assess patients and monitor vital signs, clinical condition and progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, patient records and clinical documentation.
- Perform medication administration following theΒ 5 Rights of Medication Administration.
- Assist doctors during procedures, examinations and emergency situations.
- Monitor IV fluids, blood transfusions and other prescribed therapies.
- Perform wound dressing, catheter care, NG tube feeding and other nursing procedures as required.
- Maintain properΒ Intake & Output (I/O) records.
- Follow infection-control practices, hand hygiene and biomedical-waste management.
- Identify and report any deterioration in the patient's condition immediately.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medication, diet and discharge instructions.
- Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
- Maintain emergency equipment and ensure availability of required nursing supplies.
- Follow Apollo Hospitals' clinical protocols, nursing SOPs and patient-safety standards. Apollo publishes nursing SOPs covering areas such as oxygen therapy, ventilator care, central lines, tracheostomy care, NG feeding and fluid/electrolyte management.Β Apollo Hospitals
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing supervisors and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional nursing ethics.
- Participate in training, competency assessments and continuing nursing education.
Required Qualification:
- GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, as applicable to the position.
- Valid Nursing Council registration.
- Relevant clinical experience preferred; requirements may vary by department and position.
