Senior Traffic-cum-Pavement Expert

Job Summary

The Senior Traffic-cum-Pavement Expert will be responsible for traffic analysis, forecasting, and design of flexible and rigid pavements for highway, expressway, and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with IRC, MoRTH, and other applicable standards.

Position Details

Position: Senior Traffic-cum-Pavement Expert

Experience: 7–10 Years

Location: Pune

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct traffic surveys, analysis, forecasting, PCU, V/C ratio and LOS studies as per IRC/MoRTH guidelines.

· Prepare traffic growth projections and demand models for highway and expressway projects.

· Design flexible and rigid pavements as per IRC:37, IRC:58, IRC SP guidelines and MoRTH specifications.

· Evaluate subgrade strength (CBR), axle load spectrum, and pavement performance.

· Integrate traffic study outputs with pavement design for cost-effective solutions.

· Prepare and review Traffic & Pavement chapters in DPR, Feasibility Reports, and EIA studies.

· Coordinate with survey, geotechnical, structural, and design teams.

· Review drawings, BOQs, estimates, and technical reports.

· Attend technical meetings and address observations raised by authorities such as NHAI, MSRDC, MoRTH.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• Master’s Degree in Transportation / Highway Engineering (Preferred)

Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering and pavement design

• Experience in Greenfield and Brownfield highway projects

Technical & Legal Skills

• Strong knowledge of IRC, MoRTH, NHAI, MSRDC standards and specifications

• Familiarity with contract documents, DPR requirements, and authority approvals

Software Proficiency

• MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint

• Traffic analysis and pavement design tools (HDM-4, SIDRA or equivalent)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Effective communication and coordination skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale highway / expressway projects

• Exposure to authority coordination and client presentations
