Master’s in Forestry / Environmental Science / Ecology / Natural Resource Management or related field

Key Responsibilities

Forest & Wildlife Clearance & Compliance

- Lead Forest Clearance (FC) process under Forest Conservation Act, 1980

- Lead WL Clearance (WLC) process under WLPA, 1972

- Prepare/review diversion proposals and associated documentation

Stakeholder Liaison

- Coordinate with State Forest Departments, MoEFCC, and other agencies

- Represent project in regulatory meetings

Field Investigations & Mapping

- Supervise tree enumeration, joint inspections

- Oversee GIS/RS-based mapping of forest areas

Impact Assessment & Mitigation

- Evaluate ecological impacts

- Recommend and monitor mitigation measures

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare FC documentation, technical reports, and afforestation proposals

- Monitor CA progress

- CBA preparation

- GIS mapping, Geo-digital mapping

Policy & Legal Advisory

- Provide guidance on FCA, WLPA, and other forest laws

- Update teams on regulatory changes

Skills & Competencies

- In-depth knowledge of FCA 1980, WLPA 1972, and forest clearance procedures

Technical Tools

- GIS, remote sensing, forest mapping tools

Communication & Liaison

- Strong coordination with government bodies and multidisciplinary teams

Documentation & Reporting

- High proficiency in technical writing and documentation

Problem Solving

- Strategic approach to environmental and regulatory challenges

Desirable Experience

- Experience with NHAI, MoRTH, or State Highway Projects

Funding Agencies

- Exposure to World Bank/ADB project standards (if applicable)

Professional Affiliation

- Member of forestry/environmental associations (preferred)
