About this role
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic disorders.
- Conduct detailed patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Provide care to admitted patients and monitor their clinical progress.
- Handle gastroenterology-related emergencies and coordinate timely interventions.
- Prepare and implement treatment plans under the guidance of consultants.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Ensure continuity of care through proper patient handovers.
Procedural Responsibilities
- Assist consultants during diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures.
- Assist in upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and other specialized procedures as applicable.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Ensure adherence to procedural safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate procedural records and documentation.
