About this role
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests (ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests), and formulate treatment plans.
- Clinical Rotations: Rotate through specialized units, including the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), cardiac catheterization lab, electrophysiology, and outpatient cardiology clinics.
- Procedures: Perform or assist in specialized procedures such as central line placements, arterial lines, cardioversions, and temporary pacing under appropriate supervision.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in the department's call schedule to manage acute cardiac emergencies and admissions.
- Documentation & Coordination: Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) and coordinate multidisciplinary care with cardiac surgeons, nurses, and radiologists.
- Academic Engagement: Attend and present at morning reports, grand rounds, journal clubs, and morbidity and mortality (M&M) conferences.
Job Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Licensure: Valid state medical license or training permit as required by local jurisdictions.
- Prerequisite Training: Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
- Certifications: Board eligible in Internal Medicine; current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications.
