Job Summary
We are looking for a Lighting & Rendering Artist who will be responsible for creating high quality lighting setups and rendering game-ready assets and scenes. The role focuses on achieving visually compelling results while maintaining performance optimization for real time game environments.
You will work closely with environment artists, character artists, and technical artists to ensure that lighting enhances the visual quality, mood, and storytelling of the game while meeting technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Create and implement lighting setups for game environments, characters, and cinematics.
• Optimize lighting for real-time rendering in game engines while maintaining visual quality.
• Work with art direction to achieve the desired mood, atmosphere, and visual style.
• Set up light baking, global illumination, and shadow systems.
• Configure render settings and scene setups for high-quality outputs.
• Collaborate with environment and asset teams to ensure assets are properly prepared for lighting and rendering.
• Perform lighting and rendering optimization to ensure smooth performance across platforms.
• Maintain consistency of lighting across levels and scenes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting or rendering issues in production.
• Support the team in improving render workflows and visual pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience as a Lighting Artist, Rendering Artist, or similar role in games or animation.
• Strong understanding of lighting theory, composition, and colour theory.
• Experience working with real-time game engines.

Technical Skills
• Unreal Engine (time lighting and rendering)
• Maya / Blender / 3ds Max
• Rendering tools such as Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift, or similar
• Knowledge of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) workflows
• Experience with light baking, HDRI lighting, global illumination, and post-processing
• Understanding of scene optimization and performance considerations

Additional Skills (Preferred)
• Experience with stylized game lighting
• Familiarity with Substance Painter / Designer
• Knowledge of game production pipelines
• Experience working on mobile or real-time game projects
