Key Responsibilities
EPC Construction Management
- Lead and manage complete EPC construction activities for 500kV substations, including civil, structural, electrical, and electromechanical works.
- Ensure execution of construction activities in accordance with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, and quality requirements.
- Develop construction strategies, execution plans, work fronts, and resource deployment plans to achieve project milestones.

Electrical Equipment Erection & Installation
Manage erection, installation, alignment, and pre-commissioning activities of major substation
equipment including:
- Power Transformers and Reactors
- GIS/AIS Equipment
- Circuit Breakers
- Disconnectors and Earthing Switches
- Current Transformers (CTs)
- Voltage Transformers (VTs/CVTs)
- Surge Arresters
- Busbars and Conductors
- Control & Relay Panels
- Protection, Metering, and SCADA Systems
- Battery Chargers, Batteries, and Auxiliary Systems
- Cable Laying, Termination, and Earthing Systems

Testing & Commissioning Coordination
- Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams for successful energization and project handover.
- Ensure readiness of systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Review commissioning procedures, punch points, and closure plans.
- Support functional testing, relay testing, interlocking checks, and system integration activities.
- Drive timely resolution of commissioning issues and ensure smooth project completion.

Construction Planning & Resource Management
- Plan and manage manpower, equipment, construction tools, materials, and subcontractors.
- Monitor productivity and optimize resource utilization.
- Coordinate material availability with procurement and logistics teams to avoid site delays.
- Ensure construction progress aligns with baseline schedules and milestone commitments.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, quality, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, commissioning, and project management teams.
- Interface with clients, consultants, utility representatives, and local authorities on construction-related matters.
- Conduct regular progress review meetings and drive action plans.

HSE Management
- Ensure strict compliance with project HSE requirements, company standards, and local regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all site activities.
- Conduct safety reviews, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident prevention initiatives.
- Ensure safe execution of lifting, erection, energization, and high-voltage construction activities.

Quality Assurance & Control
- Ensure compliance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Plans.
- Verify installation quality of all EHV equipment and associated systems.
- Ensure timely inspections, documentation, punch-list management, and closure of quality observations.
- Maintain complete construction and handover documentation.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor construction progress against project schedules using Primavera P6 and other project controls tools.
- Identify risks, delays, and resource constraints and implement mitigation measures.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports, productivity reports, and management updates.
- Track construction KPIs and ensure achievement of project targets.
