Asst. Construction Manager - Civil

ey Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Review and verify civil and structural drawings for substations.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and protection teams to ensure design compatibility.
• Review geotechnical reports and recommend suitable foundation solutions.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, Saudi Aramco, SEC, DEWA, or other client standards as applicable.
• Review vendor drawings, design calculations, and material submittals.

Site Execution

• Supervise all civil construction activities including:
  • Earthworks and grading
  • Excavation and backfilling
  • Foundations for transformers, GIS, switchgear, and equipment
  • Cable trenches and duct banks
  • Control building construction
  • Boundary walls and fencing
  • Internal roads and drainage systems
• Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to approved schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and construction teams.

Quality Control

• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections and witness testing activities.
• Review Method Statements, ITPs, and quality documentation.
• Ensure proper documentation of civil works and as-built records.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure implementation of HSE requirements at the project site.
• Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Maintain compliance with company and client safety procedures.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal departments.
• Attend project review meetings and provide engineering support.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications and BOQs.
• Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and progress reporting.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Review and update engineering documents and drawings.
• Support project closeout documentation and handover activities.
