Associate Consultant - Emergency Medicine
About this role
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with medical, surgical, trauma, and critical emergencies.
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central venous catheterization, defibrillation, cardioversion, and advanced airway management.
- Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate timely referrals or admissions to appropriate specialties.
- Provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and trauma resuscitation as required.
- Interpret diagnostic investigations including ECGs, X-rays, CT scans, laboratory reports, and other relevant tests.
- Coordinate with consultants, intensivists, surgeons, nursing teams, and support services to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in disaster management, mass casualty response, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, quality standards, infection control policies, and NABH guidelines.
- Supervise and mentor resident doctors and junior medical staff when required.
- Participate in departmental audits, clinical meetings, training sessions, and continuous medical education programs.
