About the roleĀ 

Join our Sydney finance team as an Assistant Accountant / Graduate and build strong foundations across core accounting processes. Reporting to the AU Finance Manager, you'll get hands-on exposure to reconciliations, journals, accounts payable, company card processing, month-end and year-end close, and audit support. It's a great opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate to turn your knowledge into practical experience and grow your career in a collaborative team.Ā 

What you'll be doing

    • Prepare bank reconciliations for all Australian bank accounts and month-end balance sheet reconciliations.Ā 

    • Prepare and post routine and month-end journal entries to keep the General LedgerĀ accurateĀ and up to date.Ā 

    • Assist with General Ledger account analysis during month-end close.Ā 

    • Process supplier bills and review entries in theĀ accountsĀ payable ledger.Ā 

    • Process and review company card transactions, including reconciliations in the accounting software.Ā 

    • AssistĀ with transaction uploads and updates across the finance systems.Ā 

    • Support month-end and year-end close, including audit activities and ad hoc finance team priorities.Ā 

What you'll bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or aĀ BusinessĀ degree with an accounting major.Ā 

    • Strong understanding of accounting concepts, with excellent attention to detail, soundĀ judgementĀ and a focus on accuracy.Ā 

    • Strong Excel and accounting software skills; experience with NetSuite and/or Xero is highly regarded.Ā 

    • PreviousĀ accounting experience through an internship or similar role is preferred; exposure to a multi-entity orĀ groupĀ finance environment is a plus.Ā 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and under deadlines.Ā
