About this role
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager β Supply Chain Management Operations will lead and manage day-to-day supply chain activities, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, products, information, and services from suppliers through internal operations to customers.
The role will oversee supply planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, distribution, service-level performance, and operational excellence. The position will focus on ensuring material availability, improving operational efficiency, controlling costs, reducing disruptions, and achieving delivery and customer-service targets.
Partner with Account Leader and Project to ensure material availability at site, supplier coordination, performance review of Sub-contractors and cost control
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Operations Management
- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations in line with business plans, operational requirements, and customer commitments.
- Ensure the timely availability and movement of raw materials, components, finished goods, consumables, and other required resources.
- Establish efficient operating processes, workflows, controls, and service standards.
- Monitor daily operations and resolve issues related to shortages, delays, capacity constraints, quality concerns, documentation, and delivery failures.
- Coordinate with production, sales, customer service, finance, quality, procurement, and operations teams.
Planning and Execution
- Lead demand, supply, production, material, replenishment, and distribution planning activities.
- Translate business forecasts and customer requirements into practical supply and execution plans.
- Monitor plan adherence, capacity utilization, lead times, order status, material availability, and operational constraints.
- Establish escalation mechanisms for critical shortages, delayed supplies, urgent orders, and customer-impacting risks.
- Communicate changes in demand, supply status, delivery commitments, and operational priorities.
Procurement and Supplier Operations
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely ordering, follow-up, receipt, and availability of materials and services.
- Monitor supplier performance relating to quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and responsiveness.
- Review open purchase orders, supplier commitments, pending deliveries, shortages, and overdue supplies.
- Support supplier development, performance reviews, corrective actions, negotiations, and alternate sourcing initiatives.
- Develop risk-mitigation and contingency plans for critical suppliers, materials, and services.
Operational Excellence and Cost Improvement
- Define and monitor KPIs covering material availability, plan adherence, inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, order fulfilment, logistics cost, and OTIF delivery.
- Identify bottlenecks, process gaps, recurring failures, and productivity-improvement opportunities.
- Lead cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives across inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Promote lean supply chain practices, standardization, automation, digital tools, and structured root-cause analysis.
- Track improvement projects, savings, corrective actions, and benefits realization.
Risk Management, Compliance, and Controls
- Identify operational risks relating to suppliers, materials, inventory, transportation, warehouse capacity, manpower, quality, and business continuity.
- Establish contingency plans and escalation procedures for supply disruptions and operational emergencies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures, procurement controls, contractual requirements, statutory obligations, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate operational records, inventory documentation, supplier data, shipment records, and performance reports.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.
Reporting and Stakeholder Management
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational performance, risks, service levels, costs, and improvement initiatives.
- Present operational dashboards and recommendations to senior management.
- Conduct regular reviews with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics partners, and service providers.
- Act as the escalation point for critical supply chain operational issues and ensure timely resolution.
Key Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience in multi-site, multi-city Data centre projects comprising of MEP, CSA, ELV packages
- Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Typically 12-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, materials management, procurement, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or operations management.
