Position: IP Coordinator – In-Patient Services
Department: In-Patient / Patient Services
Location: Hospital
Reporting To: Manager – Patient Services / Operations
Job Summary
The IP Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating smooth in-patient services from admission to discharge. The role involves coordinating with patients, doctors, nursing teams, billing, insurance/TPA, diagnostics, pharmacy, and other hospital departments to ensure efficient patient care and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the complete in-patient admission, transfer, and discharge process.
Ensure timely allocation of beds and coordination with the concerned departments.
Act as a point of contact for patients and attendants regarding IP-related services and processes.
Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, billing, pharmacy, diagnostics, housekeeping, and other support departments.
Monitor patient movement and ensure timely completion of required processes.
Coordinate with the Billing and TPA/Insurance teams for approvals, documentation, and discharge formalities.
Follow up on pending investigations, reports, consultations, and other requirements affecting patient flow.
Ensure that patient and attendant queries are addressed promptly and escalated when required.
Support timely discharge by coordinating with all concerned departments.
Verify and facilitate completion of necessary patient documentation.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to IP operations.
Monitor pending cases and follow up with respective departments for closure.
Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate authority.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, and quality standards.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital records.
Support patient satisfaction initiatives and contribute to improving the overall patient experience.

Qualification
Graduate in any discipline.
Preference may be given to candidates with qualifications in Hospital Management, Healthcare Management, Nursing, or related fields.
Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in hospital IP operations, patient services, front office, admission/discharge, or healthcare coordination.
Experience in a reputed hospital is preferred.
