701532-Associate Consultant - General Surgery

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, review clinical findings and support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Provide appropriate clinical care within the scope of qualification, specialization and assigned responsibilities.
• Assist the Consultant/Senior Consultant in managing inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Monitor patients' clinical progress and escalate significant changes appropriately.
• Participate in clinical rounds and ensure timely follow-up of treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records and clinical documentation.
• Coordinate with nursing, diagnostic, pharmacy and other clinical/support teams for continuity of patient care.
• Support emergency and on-call clinical requirements as applicable to the department.
• Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, patient-safety requirements and infection-control practices.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement activities and departmental meetings as required.
• Support patient and family communication regarding the care plan, within the defined scope of responsibility.
• Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
• Participate in continuing medical education, training and professional development activities.
• Perform other clinical responsibilities assigned by the Consultant or Head of Department, appropriate to the role and specialty.

Qualification

• MBBS with relevant postgraduate qualification such as MD / MS / DNB / equivalent, depending on the specialty.
• Valid medical registration as applicable.

Experience

• Relevant clinical experience in the concerned specialty.
• Specific minimum experience may be defined based on the specialty and organizational requirements.
