Position: Deputy Clinical Nurse

Reporting To: Nursing Superintendent / Deputy Nursing Superintendent
Job Summary:
The Deputy Clinical Nurse is responsible for supporting the nursing leadership team in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The role involves supervising nursing staff, maintaining clinical standards, coordinating patient care, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day nursing activities and patient care services.
Ensure compliance with hospital nursing policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.
Monitor nursing practices and ensure appropriate documentation of patient care.
Assist in staff allocation, duty rosters, and manpower management.
Guide and support nursing staff in clinical procedures and patient-care activities.
Monitor infection prevention and control practices.
Coordinate with doctors, clinical departments, and other healthcare teams for effective patient management.
Identify clinical issues and escalate them to the appropriate authority.
Assist in handling patient and attendant concerns related to nursing services.
Conduct regular rounds to monitor quality of nursing care and patient safety.
Support orientation, training, competency assessment, and development of nursing staff.
Ensure availability and proper utilization of nursing equipment and supplies.
Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, NABH requirements, and hospital accreditation activities.
Prepare and maintain nursing reports and other required records.
Promote professional conduct, teamwork, and patient-centered care among nursing staff.
Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Nursing leadership.
Qualification:
B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing preferred.
GNM may be considered based on hospital requirements.
Valid nursing registration with the respective State Nursing Council.
Experience:
Relevant clinical nursing experience, preferably with supervisory/team-handling experience in a hospital setting.
