Job Summary
The Assistant Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Nurse/Nursing In-charge. The role involves assisting with patient care, medication administration, monitoring patient conditions, maintaining clinical documentation, and supporting the smooth functioning of the nursing unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care to patients as per hospital protocols and standards.
- Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Assist doctors and senior nurses during procedures and clinical interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing records and patient documentation.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and follow medication safety protocols.
- Assist in admission, transfer, discharge, and handover procedures.
- Maintain proper infection prevention and control practices.
- Ensure availability and proper handling of nursing equipment and supplies.
- Monitor patients for any change in condition and promptly escalate concerns.
- Provide appropriate patient and attendant education regarding care and treatment.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, safety guidelines, and statutory requirements.
- Participate in emergency response and resuscitation activities as required.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety at all times.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing staff, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Support senior nursing staff in maintaining smooth unit operations.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration with the respective State Nursing Council.
- Relevant hospital experience will be an added advantage.

Experience
