JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Deputy Clinical Nurse

1. Job Purpose

To support the Nursing leadership team in ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care, effective coordination of nursing staff, and compliance with hospital clinical standards, policies, and protocols.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Nursing Head/Supervisor in the overall management and coordination of nursing services.

• Supervise and monitor nursing staff to ensure proper patient care and adherence to clinical protocols.

• Ensure adequate staffing and effective deployment of nursing personnel across assigned units.

• Monitor patient care activities, nursing documentation, medication administration, and handover processes.

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control practices, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.

• Conduct regular rounds and identify gaps in nursing care, documentation, equipment, and patient safety.

• Support implementation of nursing protocols, clinical guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Coordinate with doctors, allied healthcare professionals, and other departments for effective patient care.

• Assist in handling patient and attendant concerns related to nursing services and escalate issues appropriately.
