Job Purpose
To provide safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection-control standards, and patient-safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients as per their clinical requirements and physician orders.
Assess patients' conditions and monitor vital signs, symptoms, and clinical progress.
Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, patient records, and care plans.
Assist doctors during procedures, examinations, and emergency interventions.
Monitor patients before and after procedures and promptly report any changes in condition.
Ensure proper identification of patients and follow medication and treatment safety protocols.
Maintain infection-prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of PPE.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and administration of medications and medical supplies.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medication, diet, hygiene, and discharge instructions.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow hospital policies.
Coordinate with doctors, nursing teams, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments for effective patient care.
Respond promptly to emergency situations and participate in Code Blue and other emergency protocols as required.
Ensure proper handover and takeover of patients during shift changes.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the nursing station and patient-care areas.
Participate in audits, quality-improvement activities, training programs, and competency assessments.
Follow hospital policies, NABH standards, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Nursing In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent.
Required Qualifications
B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the respective State Nursing Council / Nursing Registration Authority.
Basic knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care, infection control, and medication administration.
Experience
Freshers may be considered based on hospital requirements.
Relevant hospital nursing experience will be an added advantage.
