Job Summary
TheΒ Registrar in OrthopedicsΒ is a key clinical role responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients with musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and diseases. Working under the supervision of Consultant Orthopedic Surgeons, the Registrar manages inpatient care, evaluates emergency and elective admissions, assists in or independently performs surgical procedures, and guides junior medical staff. This position bridges the gap between resident/junior doctors and senior consultants, ensuring high-quality, safe, and evidence-based patient care.Β Β
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Care & Clinical Management
Admissions & Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, take patient histories, review diagnostic imaging (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans), and document clinical conditions upon admission.Β Β
Ward Rounds: Conduct regular daily ward rounds (independently or alongside consultants) to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and update medical records accurately and promptly.Β Β
Emergency & Outpatient Services: Respond swiftly to orthopedic emergencies, manage acute trauma cases, and participate in Outpatient Department (OPD) clinics to assess new and follow-up patients.
Discharge Planning: Prepare complete and timely discharge summaries, transfer notes, and death/special reports when required.
