Job Description Summary:

Assist the Women and Children’s Center (WCC) with financial and quality projects as directed by the Executive Director. Assist with all financial and quality data/reports to ensure coordinated, proficient operations within the WCC. Responsible for assisting WCC administration to plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and maintain outcomes reporting from WCC internal and external databases. Assists the Executive Director and Director(s) with the organization/collection of information for WCC Service Lines. Assists with processes associated with clinical research performed under the auspices of the WCC. Employee is subject to call back.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with the development of the annual department budget.
  • Active in developing strategies to ensure accurate payments, product usage, and vendor related activities.
  • Acts as a liaison to hospital materials management, Accounting, Billing, Compliance, Accounts Payable, Revenue Strategies and HIM Coding departments.
  • Performs proficient accounting processes for capital equipment, supplies, and purchases and ensures they are processed accurately and timely.
  • Assists in the management of the charge and documentation processes especially related to issues arising from nationally certified databases.
  • Assists WCC Executive Director with the organization and collection of information to plan, develop, implement, coordinate and maintain all physician alignment contracts and medical directorships, including co-management and PSAs physician alignment contracts and medical directorships.
  • Ensures an efficient, innovative, and positive customer service environment exists in the West Tennessee Women’s Center and Ayers Children’s Medical Center as it relates to materials and information distribution.
  • Meets and communicates regularly with WCC leadership and Business Unit Financial Director to ensure movement toward cost efficiency, standardization and compliance to business practices, procedures and cost efficient management of budget.   
  • Assists with contract tracking.
  • Assists Executive Director in developing initiatives that increase the bottom line of the Business Units within WCC.
  • Monitors budget and prepares variance reports in a timely fashion to the appropriate WCC director or Executive Director
  • Assist WCC with financial analysis for new product procurement.
  • Designs presentations and documents to meet the needs of the department.
  • Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department and hospital. Greets guests in accordance to our Guest Excellence principles.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred, however strong, comparable experience in business or accounting along with mastery of Microsoft Office products would be considered.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

  • N/A

EXPERIENCE:

  • Business related background.  Supply and information systems experience.  Hospital experience, prefer data outcome and operational experience.  3-5 yrs. preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Skills and knowledge of techniques of business management.  Proficient in database management and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Advance computer competencies in word processing, presentation software, and graphics.
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in establishing relationships with key departments in regards to quality outcomes and business environment within the hospital.
