Key Responsibilities

Database Architecture & Design: Architect robust, scalable database solutions, define data modeling standards, and oversee schema design for high-throughput transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) applications.Performance Tuning & Optimization: Act as the final escalation point for critical performance bottlenecks. Diagnose and resolve complex locking, deadlocking, and latching issues, optimize highly complex queries, and fine-tune execution plans.High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade failover mechanisms, cluster configurations (e.g., SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, PostgreSQL replication), and foolproof backup/recovery strategies.Security & Compliance: Establish and enforce strict database security protocols, including data encryption (at rest and in transit), data masking, fine-grained role-based access control (RBAC), and comprehensive audit logging.Migration & Upgrades: Plan and execute seamless, zero- or low-downtime database upgrades

Skill Requirements

 Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise database administration, database engineering, or performance tuning.Core Expertise: Deep, internal-level understanding of relational database engines, storage structures, memory management, query optimizers, and concurrency controls.Advanced Scripting: Mastery of advanced SQL and procedural languages (such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, or PL/pgSQL) along with automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).Infrastructure Knowledge: Strong familiarity with underlying infrastructure, including storage networks (SAN/NAS), OS-level configurations (Windows Server/Linux), and virtualized environments (VMware).Cloud Proficiency: Experience managing managed relational databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) and handling hybrid-cloud database architectures.
