About this role

Experience 15 years in software engineering and architecture including at least 6 years as a solution or technical architect on banking or lending platforms

Role Summary

The bank is moving away from vendor products to a custom collateral platform The target design is modular composable and API and eventled The new platform becomes the master record for collateral and sends approved changes to the loan origination LOS and loan servicing LMS systems The Technical Architect owns the endtoend technical design and must deliver it within a phased roadmap

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Design

Define the targetstate architecture core collateral engine integration hub data hub and interaction layer UI dashboards workflows

Design domainbased microservices for the collateral lifecycle registry valuation perfection insurance release and document management

Design configurable rules and workflow engines for triggers s makerchecker approvals and escalations

Produce architecture decision records ADRs reference architectures nonfunctional requirements NFRs and design standards and take designs through the banks architecture review boards

Integration

Design the API event and batch integration layers This includes pubsub messaging message converters adapters and repair queues for failed batch processing

Lead integration design with AFS Vision Loan IQ nCino the customer master credit risk systems and document repositories

Reuse the banks existing integration API and event hubs and migrate legacy pointtopoint interfaces step by step

Data Migration

Design the collateral data model the single authoritative collateral record and data quality and reconciliation controls

Own the technical strategy for migration and coexistence with the legacy platform This covers incremental data migration parallel runs reconciliation and decommissioning

Design reporting and analytics data flows including support for regulatory reporting

Security Controls NFRs

Build in rolebased access segregation of duties encryption full audit trails and data retention

Define targets for performance scalability resilience high availability disaster recovery and observability

Keep the design aligned with the banks security model risk and technology risk standards and with US regulatory expectations OCCFRB

Engineering Leadership Delivery

Set up the platform foundation first then support iterative MVP nanoproduct releases

Define CICD DevSecOps test automation and environment strategy

Guide onsite and offshore engineering teams through code reviews design walkthroughs and technical governance

Work with the Commercial Lending Collateral SME to turn business capabilities into technical designs

Support the upfront study of the legacy application and present the proposed architecture in client workshops

Required Qualifications

Proven experience architecting large custom platforms in banking Commercial lending collateral or credit platforms are strongly preferred

Deep expertise in microservices domaindriven design and APIfirst eventdriven architecture

Handson strength in JavaSpring Boot or NET RESTGraphQL APIs and Kafka or equivalent messaging

Cloudnative architecture on AWS or Azure containers Kubernetes and managed services

Strong data architecture skills relational databases Oracle PostgreSQL SQL Server data modeling ETLELT and reconciliation design

Experience migrating from legacy or COTS platforms with coexistence and phased cutover

Experience integrating with lending systems such as AFS ACBS Loan IQ nCino or core banking platforms

Solid grasp of enterprise security IAMSSO OAuth2 encryption secrets management and audit logging

Excellent communication and stakeholder skills comfortable presenting to bank CTO and CIOlevel audiences and architecture review boards

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with rules or workflow engines such as Drools Camunda or Pega

Familiarity with collateral products such as STOC or Broadridge COLLATE

Modern frontend architecture Angular or React and document management integration

Exposure to AIML use cases such as intelligent document extraction and predictive monitoring

Certifications such as TOGAF AWSAzure Solutions Architect Professional or Kubernetes
