About this role

Assurity Trusted Solutions (ATS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Government Technology Agency (GovTech). As a Trusted Partner over the last decade, ATS offers a comprehensive suite of products and services ranging from infrastructure and operational services, authentication services, governance and assurance services, as well as managed processes. In a dynamic digital and cyber landscape, where trust & collaboration are key, ATS continues to drive mutually beneficial business outcomes through collaboration with GovTech, government agencies, and commercial partners to mitigate cyber risks and bolster security postures.

We are seeking a multidisciplinary engineer with System Engineering foundations in Operational Technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), — complemented by solid experience in software development. This role operates at the intersection of engineering, software, and operations, driving the design, integration, and secure deployment of complex, connected systems. The successful candidate will ensure that solutions are architected with rigor, developed with agility, and delivered with purpose across their full lifecycle — from concept and prototyping to production rollout and continuous improvement. As part of a cross-functional ecosystem, the System Engineer will collaborate closely with stakeholders across technical, operational, and management domains to deliver resilient, data-driven, and cyber-secure platforms that enable smarter, safer, and more efficient environments. The role also involves contributing to system architecture development, CI/CD automation, and product roadmap execution, ensuring that innovation, reliability, and stakeholder alignment remain at the core of every deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, evaluating, operating, and maintaining devices and platform infrastructure.
  • Connect and integrate systems, applications, and IoT devices into a unified solution, leveraging cloud technologies for scalability and flexibility.
  • Integrate hardware with software platforms via appropriate interfaces (serial, USB, GPIO, network) and OT protocols such as OPCUA, Modbus, and Bacnet
  • Perform basic wiring, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic devices.
  • Create and maintain IoT and application setups for secure, scalable cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Optimize application and backend services to ensure responsive performance under load and high availability.
  • Implement end-to-end data protection (encryption at rest and in transit) and adhere to cloud security best practices.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain user input workflows for clarity and ease of use across web and mobile applications.
  • Update backend logic for accurate and standardized reporting in cloud-based environments.
  • Contribute to the development of web-based applications and cloud-native services, focusing on scalability and performance.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitoring for reliable deployments, continuous integration, and operational stability in cloud environments.
  • Integrate machine learning models into cloud services for automated verification, quality assurance, and predictive analytics.
  • Add multimodal guidance (e.g., voice prompts, instructional videos) to improve system usability across platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant governance guidelines, standards, and cloud-specific regulations.
  • Support, maintain, and document all software libraries and hardware databases in cloud environments.
  • Assist in preparing tender specifications, supporting evaluation processes, and ensuring cloud technologies are leveraged effectively.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in web and backend application development, with exposure to cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms for IoT workloads, deployment, and scaling (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming (OOP) language such as Java or C++, another scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript) and frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular).
  • Strong skills in application design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting in cloud-native environments.
  • Ability to interface hardware with software platforms via serial, GPIO, USB, network connections, and OT protocols such as OPCUA, Modbus, and Bacnet.
  • Understanding of user-centric design principles and ability to refine input workflows and multimodal guidance.
  • Familiarity with cloud application architecture, microservices, and serverless computing.
  • Familiarity with basic electronics (wiring, power management, troubleshooting circuits).
