About this role

Job Summary

Windows L2 Cloud Engineer to support and execute large-scale cloud migration projects from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).ย 
The candidate should possess strong experience in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and DevOps practices.
Provide L2 operational support for Windows-based infrastructure, cloud platforms, Kubernetes environments, and cloud-native services.
Assist in infrastructure modernization, platform engineering, automation, and cloud transformation initiatives.
Support the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Windows and cloud infrastructure environments.
Work closely with SMEs, Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Application Teams to ensure successful migration, stabilization, and optimization of workloads on GCP.
Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, DevOps, and operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Support migration activities for Windows-based workloads moving from Azure to GCP.
Administer and maintain Enterprise Windows Server environments including provisioning, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Deploy and support cloud infrastructure components on GCP, including Compute Engine, networking, storage, and IAM services.
Provide operational support for Kubernetes/GKE platforms, containers, and cloud-native applications.
Execute Infrastructure-as-Code deployments using Terraform and approved automation frameworks.
Support CI/CD pipeline execution, platform upgrades, configuration changes, and release deployments.
Perform routine system administration, health checks, incident resolution, and change implementation activities.
Investigate and resolve L2 incidents related to operating systems, cloud services, Kubernetes platforms, and infrastructure components.
Monitor system performance, availability, security, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing activities.
Collaborate with L3 Engineers and SMEs during major incidents, migration cutovers, and platform upgrades.
Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and deployment procedures.
Support automation initiatives using scripting and configuration management tools.

Skill Requirements

Working knowledge of Windows Server Administration:
Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
Active Directory
DNS, Group Policy, IIS (preferred)
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Compute Engine (GCE), Cloud Storage, IAM, ย Load Balancers, Monitoring & Logging, Networking Fundamentals
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE): Cluster Operations, Pod Management, Troubleshooting, Container Lifecycle Management
Experience with container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Cloud Build
Automation and scripting skills: PowerShell, Bash Shell, Python (preferred), Ansible
Understanding of cloud networking concepts: DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPN, SSL/TLS

Other Requirements

Experience supporting enterprise Linux and Windows environments.
Exposure to Azure and GCP cloud environments, preferably within migration or modernization programs.
Experience working in ITIL-based operational environments supporting 24x7 production systems.
Willingness to participate in shift rotations, migration cutovers, and on-call support activities.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams comprising Cloud, DevOps, Application, Database, and Security engineers.
Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Cloud Operations methodologies.
Certifications such as GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, Terraform Associate, RHCSA, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Kubernetes certifications are desirable.
Candidate should demonstrate a learning mindset and willingness to develop into L3/SME roles as part of the cloud transformation journey.
