About this role

Job Summary

Linux / GCP Cloud Engineer (L2) with expertise in Enterprise Linux, GCP PaaS, Kubernetes/GKE, Azure-to-GCP Migration, Terraform, DevOps, and Automation.Β 
Lead the design, migration, modernization, automation, and operational support of Enterprise Linux workloads transitioning from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The role involves cloud modernization, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and L3 production support.

Key Responsibilities

Support assessment, planning, migration, and modernization of Linux-based workloads from Azure to GCP.
Design, build, and support GCP services including Compute Engine (GCE), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM, Load Balancers, and Cloud Operations Suite.
Administer Enterprise Linux platforms including RHEL, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux, SUSE, and Ubuntu distributions.
Perform Linux OS lifecycle management covering provisioning, patching, upgrades, hardening, compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
Engineer and support Kubernetes/GKE platforms including cluster deployment, upgrades, autoscaling, observability, networking, and security.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and automate cloud resource provisioning at scale.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and DevOps toolchains supporting application and infrastructure delivery.
Automate operational tasks using Ansible, Python, Bash Shell scripting, and cloud-native automation frameworks.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform RCA, problem management, capacity planning, and performance tuning activities.
Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and SRE-driven operational practices to improve service reliability.
Support disaster recovery, backup, restoration, platform resiliency, and high-availability solutions.
Work closely with Security, Networking, Database, Storage, and Application teams during migration, landing, stabilization, and optimization phases.
Contribute to operational runbooks, engineering standards, automation frameworks, and platform governance processes.

Skill Requirements

Strong expertise in Enterprise Linux Administration: RHEL, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
Deep understanding of Linux internalsΒ 
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Compute Engine (GCE), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM
Cloud Networking Services
Strong Kubernetes and containerization expertise:
Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Container Networking
Proven experience in Azure-to-GCP migration and cloud modernization initiatives.
Advanced Terraform skills for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Strong DevOps and Platform Engineering experience using GitOps and CI/CD methodologies.
Hands-on automation experience using: Ansible, Python, Bash Shell Scripting, YAML
Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, policy enforcement, vulnerability management, compliance, and DevSecOps practices.
Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, Firewalls, Routing, Load Balancing, VPNs, SSL/TLS, and Hybrid Connectivity.
Familiarity with storage, backup, disaster recovery, capacity management, and FinOps principles.
Tools & Platforms: Terraform, GitHub / GitLab / Azure DevOps, Jenkins / Cloud Build, Ansible Automation Platform, Kubernetes / Helm, Docker, Python

Other Requirements

Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migration, transformation, and modernization programs.
Ability to provide L2 support for critical production environments with participation in on-call rotations and major incident management.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working within global delivery models supporting multi-region cloud estates.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in Agile, DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering operating models.
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer / Professional Cloud Architect certification preferred.
Exposure to SRE, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, AI-assisted Operations, and Cloud Governance frameworks will be advantageous.
