Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our international IT team. This role is well suited for a self-motivated developer who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, evolving requirements, and frequently changing priorities. The successful candidate must be agile, able to pivot quickly, and comfortable making responsible progress when every requirement is not fully defined.

The Software Engineer will produce high-quality software for production use, support business-critical systems, and contribute across application layers. The role requires sound judgment, adaptability, attention to detail, clear documentation, and the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek clarification, guidance, or escalation.

Essential Functions

·         Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support full-stack enterprise applications, APIs, services, databases, and integrations while delivering secure, maintainable, and production-ready software.

·         Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Project Managers, stakeholders, and technical team members to understand business needs, clarify requirements, identify assumptions, and translate requirements into practical technical solutions.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, integration, and production issues using code analysis, logs, monitoring, testing, data investigation, and cross-functional collaboration.

·         Provide timely and accurate status updates, estimates, progress reports, risks, blockers, and recommended next steps to support effective project delivery and decision making.

·         Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation, implementation details, testing information, deployment procedures, support documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.

·         Hands-on programming experience using some or all of the following programming languages and frameworks: C#, C++, Angular, and JavaScript.

·         Knowledge of web-based development technologies is important.

·         Database proficiency, with SQL programming using Microsoft SQL Server preferred.

·         Experience with some or all the following software technologies: HTTP, SSL, XML/SOAP, Microsoft WCF, and multithreading.

·         Previous experience with source control systems and unit testing.

·         Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

·         Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with limited day-to-day supervision.

·         Knowledge of Agile methodologies is preferred.

·         Ability to work productively with changing requirements and priorities, pivot when needed, and meet tight deadlines.

·         Ability to ask timely questions, clarify ambiguity, make assumptions visible, and progress of work when requirements are not fully developed.

Education & Experience

·         Enrolled in the fifth year of a Software Engineering or Computer Science degree program, or equivalent relevant education and experience.

·         Two or more years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.

Desired Qualifications

·         Experience building or supporting high-availability, business-critical enterprise solutions.

·         Experience with transaction processing, payments, financial services, telecommunications, retail technology, or external vendor integrations.

·         Experience working across multiple application layers and troubleshooting end-to-end workflows.

·         Experience with technologies applicable to the team, including C++, Microsoft T-SQL, C#/.NET, JavaScript, Angular, VUE, PHP, and HTML/CSS.

·         Experience using approved AI-assisted development tools, responsibly, for coding, testing, troubleshooting, learning, and documentation.

·         Experience contributing to code reviews, team documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

40 hours per week

Weekends off, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Paid Overtime.
