Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Datadog Engineer with 7+ years of overall IT experience and strong expertise in observability, monitoring, logging, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Datadog monitoring solutions across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, and DevOps ecosystems

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Datadog monitoring solutions for applications, infrastructure, and cloud services.
  • Configure and manage Datadog APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Log Management, RUM, Dashboards, Synthetics, and Alerts.
  • Integrate Datadog with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise applications.
  • Develop custom monitors, dashboards, metrics, and alerting strategies to improve observability.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot performance, availability, and reliability issues.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, SRE, Platform, and Development teams to define monitoring standards.
  • Automate monitoring deployment using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, etc.).
  • Optimize monitoring configurations to reduce alert noise and improve incident response.
  • Create operational runbooks, documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Support production environments and participate in on-call activities when required.

Datadog Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Datadog Infrastructure Monitoring
    • Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
    • Log Management
    • Synthetic Monitoring
    • Network Performance Monitoring
    • Real User Monitoring (RUM)
    • Dashboards & Alerting
    • Service Catalog & Service Map

Cloud Platforms

  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform:
    • AWS
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

DevOps & Containers

  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI)
  • Terraform

Monitoring & Observability

  • OpenTelemetry
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
  • Splunk (good to have)
  • ELK Stack (good to have)

Scripting

  • Python
  • Shell Scripting
  • PowerShell (preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Datadog implementation and administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, SRE, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
