Malwarebytes is looking for a collaborative, motivated, and skilled individual (ideally located in the Santa Clara, CA area able to work a hybrid schedule 2 days per week) to join our data and insights group as a Senior Commercial Data Analyst supporting Finance.

We are looking for someone who has both strong data analysis skills, including window functions and transformation frameworks, as well as an understanding of common financial KPIs, and who is able to collaborate with Finance and Marketing/Retention teams in a multiple-project environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with advanced SQL and the dbt Core framework, including advanced materialization options, incremental loads, and Jinja macros. This position also requires an understanding of the Snowflake data cloud platform and the ability to tune data models to optimize execution plans and warehouse usage. You will also need to be comfortable with Git-based CI/CD workflows, including raising PRs against CI and pre-production schemas. The ideal candidate can work with business teams across the company, think outside the box to solve business problems, and brings a continuous-learning, can-do attitude. 

This role is central to building an established, trusted home for all things commercial data at Malwarebytes: pulling data down from Snowflake, building Power BI dashboards for the company to consume, and partnering across Retention/Marketing, Product, and Finance. Below are examples of the projects and strategic initiatives this role will be aligned to: 

  • Retention model updates 
  • Annual Operating Plan (AOP) metric updates 
  • Modeling and support for price increase campaigns 
  • ARR model updates and enhancements 


Compensation:

San Francisco Bay Area: $155 - 170K Annually

Region 2: $137 - $165K Annually

Region 3: $130 - 160K Annually


What You Will Do:


  • Translate business and executive requirements into curated financial and operational datasets
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for company-wide consumption
  • Map business metrics to various eCommerce vendors and internal engineering data sources
  • Update revenue system configurations as a result of new product launches and bundle configuration changes
  • Run pre-production versus production data comparisons as part of CI/CD
  • Proactively monitor existing processes and investigate root cause in the event of failures
  • Partner cross-functionally with Retention/Marketing, Product, and Finance while managing multiple projects simultaneously


Skills You'll Need to Have:

  • Understanding of financial KPIs and the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced SQL, Power BI and basic DAX required
  • Ideally have hands-on experience with the dbt framework (dbt Core), including advanced materialization options, incremental loads, and Jinja macros
  • Familiarity and working exposure with Snowflake, including the ability to tune data model implementations to optimize the execution plan and warehouse usage
  • Experience building and publishing Power BI dashboards
  • Proficiency with Git-based processes and CI/CD workflows, including raising PRs against CI and pre-production schemas
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field
  • 4-6+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, or FP&A, preferably in a SaaS or consumer technology environment
