We are seeking a proactive VMware Horizon L2 Support Engineer to join our VDI operations team. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our VMware Horizon environment to ensure high availability. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with VMware VDI stack and working knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to support cross-platform operations and coexistence.\\\\r\\\\nKey Responsibilities\\\\r\\\\nVMware Horizon Administration\\\\r\\\\n• Provide L2 support for Horizon components: Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).\\\\r\\\\n• Manage, update, and deploy Golden Images, Instant Clones, and desktop pools.\\\\r\\\\n• Troubleshoot desktop provisioning, user authentication, BLAST/PCoIP protocol issues, and performance bottlenecks.\\\\r\\\\n• Execute routine maintenance, image patching, component upgrades, and DR readiness tasks.\\\\r\\\\nCitrix Support (Secondary Skill)\\\\r\\\\n• Provide operational support for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).\\\\r\\\\n• Troubleshoot Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, VDAs, and Published Applications.\\\\r\\\\n• Assist with user session issues, policy configurations, and platform coexistence or migration tasks.\\\\r\\\\nOperational & Incident Support\\\\r\\\\n• Resolve escalated ticket issues regarding profile corruption, printing, MFA, Active Directory GPOs, and app launch failures.\\\\r\\\\n• Monitor environment health metrics using vRealize Operations (vROps) or ControlUp.\\\\r\\\\n• Adhere to ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management) for major incidents and escalation paths.\\\\r\\\\n• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system documentation, and Knowledge Base articles.\\\\r\\\\nTechnical Requirements\\\\r\\\\nArea Core Competencies\\\\r\\\\nPrimary VDI VMware Horizon 7.x/8.x, App Volumes, DEM, UAG, Instant Clones, RDSH\\\\r\\\\nSecondary VDI Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, StoreFront, Citrix Workspace, VDA troubleshooting\\\\r\\\\nVirtualization VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi hosts\\\\r\\\\nOS & Profiles Windows 10/11, Windows Server, FSLogix, VMware DEM\\\\r\\\\nInfrastructure Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, MFA, basic vSphere networking\\\\r\\\\nQualifications & Certifications\\\\r\\\\n• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.\\\\r\\\\n• 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise VDI operational support.\\\\r\\\\n• Preferred: VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM).\\\\r\\\\n• Preferred: ITIL Foundation Certification or Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V). 

Key Responsibilities

VMware Horizon Administration • Provide L2 support for Horizon components: Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM). • Manage, update, and deploy Golden Images, Instant Clones, and desktop pools. • Troubleshoot desktop provisioning, user authentication, BLAST/PCoIP protocol issues, and performance bottlenecks. • Execute routine maintenance, image patching, component upgrades, and DR readiness tasks. Skill Requirements

Operational & Incident Support • Resolve escalated ticket issues regarding profile corruption, printing, MFA, Active Directory GPOs, and app launch failures. • Monitor environment health metrics using vRealize Operations (vROps) or ControlUp. • Adhere to ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management) for major incidents and escalation paths. • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system documentation, and Knowledge Base articles.
