Role Summary:

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage high-volume transactional data, ensure compliance, and design accounting treatments for new product rollouts. This role sits at the intersection of traditional finance and fast-paced financial technology.

1) Daily Operations

  • Perform daily financial settlements with third-party service providers and network operators supporting user transactions.
  • Oversee daily cash management, multi-currency wallet balances, and automated payment gateways.
  • Review corporate disbursements, optimize working capital, and manage banking relationship portals.

2) User Reconciliation

  • Own the full end-to-end reconciliation report for the assigned market and act as the main preparer for Finance Manager review.
  • Monitor and strictly keep track of user trust accounts to guarantee compliance with safeguarding financial regulations.
  • Validate transaction accuracy and data integrity by comparing front-end user databases with back-end financial records.
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to clear system anomalies, tracking gaps, and settlement delays.
  • Reconcile daily user wallet balances against internal transaction ledgers and bank clearing systems.
  • Track, resolve, and document settlement breaks and failed payment gateway transactions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to automate routine billing and financial data workflows.

3) Statutory Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Assist to liaise with external auditors to facilitate smooth year-end statutory audits.
  • Assist in periodic regulatory reporting to governing regulators, ensuring all compliance submissions are accurate and on time.
  • Compile mandatory financial resource reports if applicable to local regulators.

4) Supervise Junior Accountants

  • Assist the Finance Manager to supervise junior team members, ensuring overall operational alignment.
  • Lead and guide junior team members on accounting practices, complex workflows, and problem-solving.
  • Delegate daily reconciliation tasks and review the completed working for accuracy and control.

Required Experience & Industry Knowledge

  • 5–8 years of accounting experience in fintech, digital banking, e-commerce, or a relevant industry dealing with huge volumes of transactional data.
  • Prior experience managing multi-currency accounts, handling foreign exchange (FX) revaluations, and booking cross-border transactions is highly encouraged.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of IFRS with the ability to map out complex double-entry accounting logic for new product and platform feature launches.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., Power Query, complex formulas, data modeling) is required.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and analysis is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
