Role Summary
As a Senior Accountant, you will own accurate and timely financial recordkeeping, reporting, and reconciliations, while supporting audit readiness, tax compliance, and internal controls. You will apply strong accounting knowledge independently, provide guidance to junior colleagues on compliance and process, and act as a point of contact for stakeholders including auditors, tax authorities, and banks. This is an individual contributor role focused on technical accounting depth rather than people management, with real opportunity to grow within CloudFactory's finance function.
Please note: This is a full-time, fixed-term employee position with an expected duration of 9 months.
Responsibilities:
Financial recordkeeping
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and prepayments in the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure vendor bills and customer invoices are processed correctly and within agreed credit terms.
Financial reporting
- Prepare full sets of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for external reporting and annual audit purposes.
- Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
Management accounting
- Review management reports to ensure financial integrity, including trend analysis and cost center and profit center reporting.
- Support organizational decision-making through effective financial analysis and reporting.
Reconciliations and administrative oversight
- Ensure administrative and recordkeeping tasks within the finance function follow established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide guidance to junior colleagues on compliance requirements and monitor adherence to standards.
Payroll and payouts administration
- Review payroll for core team members and cloud team payouts, serving as a point of contact for payroll-related questions.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant tax, labor, and industry-specific regulations.
Audit support
- Oversee preparation for audits, ensuring financial records, documents, and information are organized and readily accessible to auditors.
- Act as a liaison between the audit team and senior management, communicating audit progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Prepare working papers, calculations, and reconciliations required for financial statement preparation.
Tax planning and compliance
- Manage the company's tax obligations, including timely payment of corporation tax, payroll tax, withholding tax, and VAT.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Internal controls
- Collaborate with IT, operations, and compliance teams to ensure internal controls are effectively integrated across the organization.
- Support the reliability and integrity of financial information through adherence to established controls and processes.
Stakeholder relationship management
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, colleagues, and regulatory bodies.
- Support the organization's reputation, growth, and sustainability through effective external engagement.
Budgeting and forecasting
- Apply a fundamental grasp of budgeting principles to offer guidance on budget availability.
Must-have skills (required)
- Professional accounting knowledge: deep understanding of periodic financial reporting and required account reconciliations.
- Financial reporting: proven ability to independently prepare full sets of financial statements to support external reporting and annual audit requirements.
- Tax and compliance knowledge: working knowledge of corporation tax, payroll tax, withholding tax, and VAT requirements.
- Tools and technology: deep understanding of the organization's accounting system and tools, using advanced features and reconciliation or period-close tools regularly.
- Communication skills: able to engage stakeholders across departments and adapt communication style accordingly, including external stakeholders such as banks, tax authorities, and auditors.
- Problem-solving and decision-making: able to apply critical analysis to resolve complex issues independently, considering broader business implications.
- Business acumen: understands how different departments and functions collaborate to achieve business objectives, and how their own work contributes to this.
- Project management: able to independently lead multiple accounting projects with limited senior oversight, developing plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Team collaboration: works effectively with suppliers, cloud workers, and partners, and contributes to the work of the wider finance team.
Academic and professional requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or local equivalent) preferred.
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
Nice-to-have skills (preferred)
- Experience working with accounting systems and ERP platforms used in a multi-entity or multi-country environment.
- Exposure to payroll administration and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior accounting colleagues.
