About this role
Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Car Salesperson to join our growing automotive sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full sales cycle — from greeting walk-in and online customers, to closing deals, to preparing vehicles for delivery. This role also involves hands-on support in receiving new vehicle shipments, including destuffing vehicles from shipping containers or organizing them to be driven off of wharfs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
- Greet and engage customers in the showroom floor, by phone, and online
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable vehicle models and options
- Conduct test drives and product demonstrations
- Prepare and present price quotations and financing options
- Follow up with leads and past customers to build repeat and referral business
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all vehicle models, features, and promotions
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Organize and attend expos and tradeshows to promote our automotive brands
Vehicle Receiving & Container Destuffing
- Organize and assist with destuffing new vehicles from shipping containers upon arrival at the port/warehouse
- Carefully inspect vehicles during unloading for shipping damage, defects, or discrepancies and report findings immediately
- Safely drive or maneuver vehicles out of containers or wharfs, following proper safety procedures
- Coordinate with internal staff to ensure vehicles are unloaded, checked in, and moved to the correct storage or display area
- Verify VINs, model numbers, and shipment documentation against delivery manifests
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned and prepped for showroom display after destuffing
Administration
- Maintain accurate records of sales, customer information, and inventory in the ERP
- Process sales documentation, including contracts, registration paperwork, and delivery forms
- Coordinate with the finance and parts/service departments as needed
- Register sold vehicles with GRA prior to delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in sales (automotive sales preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Physically able to assist with vehicle unloading tasks
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Suite & ERP)
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and customer-oriented
- Prior experience in the automotive industry is an asset
Working Conditions
- Primarily based at the showroom, with periodic travel to the port/warehouse for vehicle moving / destuffing
- May require weekend or extended hours during promotions or high-volume shipments
