Job Summary
The Resident Doctor is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, assisting consultants during diagnosis and treatment, managing inpatients and emergency cases, and ensuring continuity of patient care. The role involves clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical examinations and assess patients' medical conditions.
- Diagnose and manage patients under the guidance of consultants.
- Monitor inpatients and ensure timely clinical interventions.
- Attend emergency and critical care cases as required.
- Perform routine medical procedures and assist in specialized procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records in accordance with hospital policies.
- Order and interpret laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests.
- Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, and allied healthcare teams for patient care.
- Participate in ward rounds and implement treatment plans prescribed by consultants.
- Provide patients and families with medical information and counselling regarding treatment and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and clinical quality standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, CME programs, and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized Medical College.
- Valid Medical Council Registration.
- Additional certification such as ACLS/BLS is desirable.
Experience
- 0 to 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Fresh MBBS graduates with valid registration may also be considered.
