Job Description

This position serves LEONI’s North American Development Department as Resident E/E Harness Designer at Volvo Truck.    The candidate should have appropriate technical background and communication skills to represent LEONI in front of our customers.  This position reports to our Team Leader, Truck and Powertrain Design & Development Americas.  

  • Evaluates customer design information according to customer and LEONI requirements
  • Communicates directly with the customer’s technical department to clarify designs are resolve issues.
  • Coordinates engineering changes and deviations, controls and reports on status to internal and external parties
  • Identifies cost and efficiency improvements, e.g. design for manufacturing or design to cost
  • Supports design and quality activities (Design Review, DFMEA, Design for Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Works at LEONI and/or customer locations
  • Represents LEONI in our customer’s vehicle project teams and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Supports build phases and trouble shooting in vehicle assembly plants
  • Supports all customer meetings and requests

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive preferred)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Automotive Electrical/Electronics Design
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD tools and E/E schematics preferred
  • Proficient English speaking and writing skills
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Good team work, interpersonal skills, & problem solving skills
  • Willingness to travel
