Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Powertrain Performance Engineer to join our team in Arizona.


A Day in the Life:     

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives. 

  • Evaluate and develop vehicle acceleration and drivability performance for future Nissan and Infiniti products.
  • Conduct subjective and objective vehicle evaluations to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking studies and establish performance targets based on customer expectations and market-leading vehicles.
  • Design and execute vehicle development experiments using advanced data acquisition and measurement systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret vehicle data to identify root causes and develop fact-based recommendations.
  • Calibration of powertrain tuning parameters for both acceleration and drivability performance
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across North America and global R&D organizations throughout the vehicle development process.
  • Independently manage development activities including test planning, execution, reporting, and technical presentations to management.

 

Who We’re Looking for:  

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5 or more years of related professional experience in hybrid/electric AND/OR internal combustion calibration.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle operation.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently plan and execute engineering activities.
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Sensitivity to perceive, discern, and characterize vehicle performance attributes.
  • Valid United States driver’s license/clean driving record.

 

Desired:

  • Experience with engine, transmission (AT/CVT), hybrid, or battery-electric powertrain systems.
  • Experience with vehicle calibration, drivability development, or powertrain performance evaluation.
  • Experience with ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer, CANape, or similar vehicle development tools.
  • Experience with vehicle data acquisition, analysis, and engineering reporting.
  • Understanding of vehicle controls and calibration methodologies.
  • Experience with prototype vehicle development and competitive benchmarking activities.

 

Travel

Ability to travel up to 15%, including occasional domestic and international development activities.
