General Manager – Northwest Service Sales

Job Description:

Lead Sales. Grow the Business. Develop Your Team.

YESCO is looking for an experienced sales leader to oversee our Northwest Service business across Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to build and coach a sales team, develop customer relationships, and grow the business. You’ll work with your team on new opportunities, incoming leads, proposals, customer relationships, and sales goals, while also being responsible for the region's overall financial performance.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys developing people, understands sales performance, and is comfortable being accountable for results.

Why YESCO?

Since 1920, YESCO has helped businesses make an impression.

Our work includes the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, major resorts, sports venues, entertainment destinations, and commercial properties throughout North America. We’ve been around for more than 100 years because we know how to build relationships, solve problems, and deliver quality work.

As the Northwest Region Service General Manager you’ll lead a team, build customer relationships, grow the market, and play a direct role in the success of the Northwest Service business.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Develop the Sales Team

  • Lead, coach, and develop Service sales professionals across the Northwest region.
  • Meet one-on-one with each team member weekly to discuss opportunities, goals, challenges, and development.
  • Assign incoming leads and make sure opportunities receive appropriate follow-up.
  • Review proposals and help salespeople move opportunities toward a close.
  • Set expectations, provide feedback, and address performance issues when necessary.
  • Recruit and help build the sales team as the business grows.

Manage Sales Performance

You’ll know the numbers and use them to help manage the business.  Key performance indicators may include:

  • Sales and revenue
  • New business and customer growth
  • Pipeline and qualified opportunities
  • Proposal activity and close rates
  • Lead response and follow-up
  • Customer retention and repeat business
  • Gross margin and overall financial performance
  • You’ll regularly review results, look for trends, and understand what is driving them so you know where to focus.

Grow the Business

  • You should be comfortable making the first contact. Whether that means picking up the phone, following up with a prospective customer, asking for an introduction, or meeting someone at an industry event, you understand that a first conversation can lead to a long-term relationship.
  • Identify new customers and business opportunities throughout the Northwest.
  • Build relationships with business owners, property managers, facility managers, contractors, and other decision-makers.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and look for additional opportunities.
  • Represent YESCO at customer meetings, industry events, and business functions.
  • Take Care of Customers

  • Step in when a significant customer concern needs leadership attention.
  • Work with Operations and Service teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Look for opportunities to earn additional business from existing customers.

Run the Business

  • Sales is at the heart of this position, but you’ll also have responsibility for the overall Northwest Service operation.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Northwest Service offices.
  • Own the region’s financial performance and P&L.
  • Work with Operations, Accounting, HR, IT, Legal, and other corporate teams.
  • Help manage staffing, inventory, vendors, and other business needs.
  • Address issues that affect business performance.
  • Travel approximately twice a year to Coeur d’Alene, Portland, Seattle, and the Tri-Cities area.

What You’ll Bring

  • We’re looking for someone with sales leadership experience and a track record of getting results.
  • Experience managing and coaching a sales team.
  • A history of growing sales and developing new business.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and moving opportunities toward completion.
  • Experience using KPIs and sales metrics to manage performance and make decisions.
  • Experience setting goals and holding people accountable.
  • Comfortable making cold calls and developing relationships with people you’ve never met.
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Good business judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organization and follow-through.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred, but relevant sales leadership and business experience are what matter most. Experience in construction, electrical work, or the sign industry is helpful but not required.

Is This You?

  • You enjoy leading people and winning business. You like understanding what is happening in the business, figuring out where to focus, and helping your team succeed.
  • You’re comfortable making the call, having the conversation, solving customer problems, and making decisions. You also understand that running a successful business means paying attention to financial results, people, customers, and the day-to-day issues that come with the job.
  • If you want to lead a sales team, build strong customer relationships, and have a direct hand in running the business, we’d like to hear from you.
