About this role

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Operations Team Member to join our Commercial Operations team within the Wholesale Banking Group (WBG). The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying legal documentation, maintaining operational records, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards. This role demands strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The candidate will be involved in end-to-end documentation verification, collateral and limit maintenance, insurance policy coordination, and post-disbursement tracking. The role also includes liaison with auditors, MIS reporting, and coordination with various internal teams for seamless operational execution.

Role Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for managing end-to-end Working Capital Operations activities, ensuring adherence to operational procedures, regulatory guidelines, service standards, and risk control measures. The role requires coordination with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and business teams to ensure seamless processing and monitoring of transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end Working Capital Operations processes including limit setup, transaction processing, and operational support.
  • Process and monitor Trade Finance and Working Capital products such as Bank Guarantees, Letter of Credit, Bills, Packing Credit, and other funded/non-funded facilities.
  • Perform document verification, scrutiny, and compliance checks as per bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Document Verification Unit (DVU) checks and validate supporting documents for disbursement and operational processing.
  • Undertake property-related checks and documentation verification for secured lending transactions.
  • Ensure timely execution of customer requests within defined TATs.
  • Coordinate with Business, Credit, Legal, Operations, and Compliance teams for smooth transaction processing.
  • Monitor operational controls and ensure compliance with internal audit, RBI, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify process gaps and support automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare MIS reports, track operational metrics, and provide updates to management.
  • Manage customer queries and resolve operational escalations effectively.

Candidate Profile

  • Graduation/Post Graduation in Commerce, Finance, Banking, or related disciplines.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Working Capital Operations, Trade Operations, or Commercial Banking Operations.
  • Good understanding of Trade Finance products and working capital facilities.
  • Knowledge of documentation, DVU processes, property verification requirements, and operational risk controls.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and banking operation systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in corporate banking operations.
  • Exposure to Trade Finance Operations and secured lending documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to working capital products.
Verify executed legal documents as per the Documentation Grid and Sanction Letter/Term Sheet. Ensure adherence to Stamp Duty norms as per the Legal Stamp Duty Grid. Maintain limits and collateral records accurately. Perform CERSAI maintenance including charge creation and release for various asset types. Update PSL for CCOD products based on templates received from business. Coordinate insurance policy maintenance as per sanction terms with the centralized desk. Prepare and release Disbursement Advice to Loan Maintenance Team for loan disbursements. Issue Limit Loading Instructions (LLI) to Treasury and CMS teams for respective products. Manage insertions of documents received post-disbursement. Close deferrals upon receipt of requisite documents from Business Units. Track post-disbursement conditions in DRS marked as “pre-approved”. Handover files and dockets to DMT and obtain acknowledgements. Weekly handover of PDC/SPDCs to vendors and collect acknowledgements. Liaise with auditors and ensure resolution of audit queries. Generate and maintain MIS reports including daily reporting, pending status, and insertions. Confirm release of property and verify documents before handing over to stakeholders. Ensure sanction letters are signed by authorized signatories as per business/credit list.
