About this role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Trade Finance Operations team within the Wholesale Banking Group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day trade transactions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely and error-free execution of trade-related services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and authorize Trade Finance transactions including:ย 
    • Letters of Credit (LCs)
    • Bank Guarantees (BGs)
    • Import and Export Collections
    • Bills Discounting/Purchase
    • Trade Remittances
  • Ensure compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, URDG, FEMA, RBI guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Scrutinize trade documents and identify discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with branches, relationship teams, customers, correspondent banks, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor transaction processing timelines and ensure adherence to agreed TATs.
  • Handle customer and stakeholder queries related to trade transactions.
  • Perform operational controls, reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive operational efficiency.
  • Prepare MIS reports and operational dashboards for management review.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.

Candidate Profile

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, Banking, or related discipline.
  • 4-8 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations within a Bank/NBFC.
  • Hands-on experience in LCs, BGs, Import/Export Operations, and Trade Compliance.
  • Good understanding of international trade practices and banking regulations.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messages and core banking systems will be preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Handle day-to-day trade transactions and understand client requirements. Coordinate with CPC for transaction processing and discrepancy resolution. Liaise with various business groups within the bank for operational support. Ensure error-free and timely execution of trade transactions. Adhere to compliance and internal operational guidelines. Coordinate with clients and correspondent banks to resolve queries raised by Trade Finance/CMS Operations. Issue Letters of Credit and ensure proper documentation. Conduct initial scrutiny of trade documents before forwarding to CPC for processing. Attend to front-end requirements of corporate customers. Coordinate with CPC, CMS, and Clearing teams to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements. Ensure all transactions are processed within agreed turnaround times (TAT). Maintain familiarity with Trade Finance and CMS products.
