We are currently seeking an Assistant Gym Manager to join our dynamic team and help lead our wellness and fitness facilities across db San Antonio Hotel + Spa and Xemxija Bay Hotel.

The Job

As Assistant Gym Manager, you will support the Gym Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the fitness facilities at both db San Antonio Hotel + Spa and Xemxija Bay Hotel, ensuring a smooth-running, safe and welcoming environment for members and guests across both sites. You will supervise front-of-house and fitness staff, help drive membership growth and service standards, and step in to manage either facility in the manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Gym Manager in overseeing daily operations, staffing and facility standards across both properties.
• Supervise, train and motivate reception, fitness and support staff at both locations.
• Oversee bookings, memberships, payments and POS/booking system accuracy.
• Handle escalated guest inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization and equipment upkeep across both gyms and reception areas.
• Assist with rostering, administrative reporting and inventory/stock management for both facilities.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, including staff training.
• Support marketing and retention initiatives to grow membership and class attendance at both sites.
• Step in for the Gym Manager, overseeing full operations at either property when required.
• Travel between db San Antonio Hotel + Spa and Xemxija Bay Hotel as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within fitness, hospitality or customer service is required.
• Fitness instructor certification or a recognized sports/fitness qualification is required.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Positive, approachable and professional demeanour with a hands-on leadership style.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in booking/POS systems and general computer literacy; reporting experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and to work across both properties.
• Own transport preferred, given the dual-site nature of the role.
