Ford Rom is seeking an experienced Network Engineer (EXT_HIRE) to join the 1000046242 department on an external hiring basis. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain high‑performance, secure network architectures that enable critical business operations. This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams, manages vendor relationships, and ensures network reliability through proactive monitoring and rapid incident response.
- Design and deploy scalable LAN/WAN, data center, and cloud networking solutions.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize routing, switching, and firewall devices.
- Monitor network performance and implement corrective actions to meet SLA targets.
- Maintain network security policies, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend upgrades to support growth.
- Document network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, firmware updates, and support escalations.
- Participate in cross‑departmental projects to integrate networking requirements.
- Provide on‑call support and lead incident response for network outages.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for routine tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VLAN design.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or similar networking hardware.
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow).
- Scripting/automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Understanding of network security best practices and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
