About the role

Looking for a family-friendly mining role that allows you to be home every night? Join Alcoa's Willowdale Bauxite Mine, located near Waroona, south of Perth.

We have a range of Mining Operator opportunities available across our Production and Rehabilitation teams, offering roster options that support a healthy work-life balance.

As an All-Round Mining Operator, you'll play an important role in safely operating and maintaining heavy mobile equipment while contributing to reliable, efficient and high-quality mining outcomes. Whether you're working within our Production team on a combination of day and night shifts or within our Rehabilitation team on a continuous 12 hour day roster you will be part of a team committed to safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

We're looking for enthusiastic, proactive individuals who enjoy working outdoors, collaborating with others and taking pride in delivering results. Previous mining experience is valuable, but just as important is a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to working safely.

• Production team roster: 2 Days, 2 Nights, 5 Days Off

• Rehabilitation team: Continuous Day Shift Roster (Week 1 consists of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday shifts, with Thursday off. Week 2 provides seven consecutive days off).

Operating Experience

Ideally, we are looking for you to be able to operate 1 or more of the below . . .

• CAT 993 Loader

• Komatsu PC3400 & PC2000 Large Excavator

• CAT D10 & D11 Dozer

• Komatsu 375 & 475.

• CAT 16 & 18 Grader

• CAT 637 Scraper and Dump Trucks.

• Haul truck 785 + (789, 730E & 1500’s)

• Stockpiling experience and working within a similar mining environment is not essential but highly regarded

About the Location

Willowdale is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia, and is located in the Darling Scarp east of Waroona and Cookernup. It supplies bauxite ore to the Wagerup Alumina Refinery via a direct overland conveying system and helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
