Job Description

Makeup Tutor 
Location: Auckland CBD
Full-time | Permanent | On-site

About the role:  

We're looking for an experienced Makeup Artist who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and inspiring the next generation of industry professionals. 

In this role, you'll deliver our New Zealand Certificate in Makeup Artistry (Level 4), helping students build the practical skills, confidence, and industry knowledge they need to succeed. 

No formal teaching experience is required. You'll be supported with a well-developed curriculum, comprehensive teaching resources, and ongoing professional development, giving you everything you need to confidently transition into a training role. 

  • Deliver engaging, practical learning experiences that bring our curriculum to life. 

  • Support, mentor, and motivate students throughout their learning journey. 

  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to help them achieve success. 

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and industry-focused learning environment. 

  • Contribute to strong graduate outcomes by preparing students for employment in the makeup industry. 

Qualifications

About you:  

You're a Makeup Artist and Hairstylist with a strong industry background who enjoys sharing your knowledge and helping others develop their skills. You're approachable, organised, and thrive on building positive relationships with a diverse range of people. Whether you're already working in education or looking to take the next step in your career, you'll be committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can succeed. 

To be successful in this role, you'll have: 

  • A nationally recognised Level 4 qualification in Makeup Artistry (or an equivalent international qualification). 

  • At least four years' industry experience as a professional Makeup Artist. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and support learners from diverse backgrounds. 

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively. 

  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences. 

A qualification in Adult Education or Adult Teaching is advantageous but not essential. If you don't have formal teaching experience, we'll provide the training and support you need to become a confident and successful educator.
