Legal and Compliance Officer

Role Summary

Andaria Financial Services Limited is a Maltese-licensed Electronic Money Institution. We are seeking a Legal and Compliance Officer to support the Legal and Compliance function across the full range of the company's legal, regulatory and commercial matters. Reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance, the successful candidate will draft and review legal documentation, analyse the regulatory frameworks applicable to the business, and support the company's ongoing compliance obligations. This is a varied, hands-on role well suited to a legally qualified professional looking to develop within the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft agreements, corporate policies, board and shareholder resolutions, and other legal and corporate documentation.
• Review and mark up commercial agreements and third-party documentation, identifying legal and commercial risk and proposing amendments.
• Analyse legislation, regulations and regulatory guidance relevant to the company's activities as an EMI, and assess their impact on the business.
• Support the compliance function in meeting the company's regulatory obligations, including assisting with policies, procedures and regulatory engagement.
• Conduct legal research across the relevant Maltese and EU legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Assist with regulatory correspondence and the preparation of supporting documentation.
• Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by the Head of Legal and Compliance or management.

Requirements

Essential

• A Master of Advocacy.
• A warrant to practise as an advocate in Malta.
• Strong fluency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to draft clear and precise legal documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and prioritise effectively.
  
  

Desirable

• Experience in, and a genuine interest in, financial services regulation.
• Familiarity with the regulatory framework applicable to electronic money institutions and payment services.
