Lead Engineer, Process
About this role
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Transfer the assigned Front-End or Back-End process from Wuxi to Đồng Nai.
- Work with the Wuxi team to set up, qualify and buy off equipment and process capability.
- Support process documentation and readiness for production ramp-up.
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, material and product abnormalities.
- Improve process yield, FPY, scrap rate, HPU and production capacity.
- Optimize process parameters, equipment performance, fixtures and tooling.
- Use data analysis and structured problem-solving to verify improvement effectiveness.
- Qualify new equipment, fixtures, materials, processes and second sources.
- Review technical risks, cost benefits, schedule and expected payback.
- Maintain and update WI, recipes, control plans, SPC and process records.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Electronics, Electronic Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Optoelectronics, Physics, Materials Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in semiconductor packaging, optical components, laser manufacturing or a related manufacturing field.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving, technical analysis and decision-making capability.
- Ability to lead cross-functional activities with Quality, Equipment, Production, Test, R&D and suppliers.
The candidate is expected to meet the requirements of at least one specialization below :
Front End Process:
Wire bonding and die bonding.
Eutectic bonding, flip-chip soldering and epoxy filling.
ASM, Datacom, MRSI, I-Cube, K&S or Shinkawa platforms and program development.
Process yield improvement, scrap reduction and ramp-up support.
Production rig maintenance, technician training and WI update.
Material quality issue analysis and secondsource verification.
- Back End Process:
Optical alignment, optics attachment, gluing and assembly.
Aligner troubleshooting and incoming material issue judgment.
Fixture and tooling optimization. SPC, daily checks, WI and process recipe control.
HPU reduction, yield improvement and capacity ramp-up.
Second-source qualification and advanced assembly platform introduction.
Working Conditions
- Working in the office and cleanroom, full-time in manufacturing plants.
