Hiring compensation range: $22.58 - $24.83 per hour depending on qualifications.
Job Summary:
Assists the Career Center Manager by supporting the day-to-day operations and goals of the Career Resource Center (CRC) including, but not limited to: assists, counsels, and instructs college students, alumni, and the public in all matters relating to career development.
Job Duties:
- Assists, counsels and instructs College students and alumni in all matters relating to employment.
- Develops job opportunities and contacts for students and alumni with employers in Hillsborough County.
- Assists the Career Center Manager by supporting the day to day operations and goals of the Career Resource Center (CRC).
- Assists, counsels, and instructs college students, alumni, and the public in all matters relating to career development.
- Delivers workshop presentations on various career related topics including resumes, interview preparation, job search, and more.
- Helps maintain the CRC’s active presence on various social media platforms.
- Aid in monitoring and rotating CRC announcements on college webpages and posting areas.
- Conducts outreach with employers and college departments to provide outstanding career services.
- Meets with students one-on-one and/or in groups to provide feedback on career development strategies.
- Assist with the operation of the Career Ready Closet.
- Helps facilitate CRC events including job and career fairs.
- This position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and
- One year of prior-related work experience.
- The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An awarded Bachelor’s degree,
- Experience as an academic advisor in higher education,
- Strong presentation skills,
- Experience in job search techniques such as resume’ writing, and
- Strong computer skills.
