Salesforce Technical Architect

Location: London, United Kingdom (Onsite)

Role Overview

Experienced Salesforce Technical Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions supporting customer onboarding, client servicing, case management, operational workflows, and digital transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical authority for Salesforce architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that integrate seamlessly with banking platforms, payment ecosystems, data platforms, and third-party applications. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects, security teams, and delivery partners. The position aligns with ClearBank's Salesforce transformation roadmap covering Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Financial Services Cloud evaluation, integrations, AI opportunities, and future-state operating models

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Architecture & Solution Design

  • Own end-to-end Salesforce technical architecture across multiple workstreams.
  • Define target-state Salesforce architecture, solution blueprints, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
  • Lead architecture decisions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud capabilities.
  • Create High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
  • Establish Salesforce development standards, governance, and best practices.

Banking & Customer Journey Transformation

  • Design Salesforce solutions supporting:
    • Customer onboarding, Case management, Customer servicing, Fraud reporting,Issue resolution, Document management, Operational workflow automation
  • Translate banking business requirements into scalable Salesforce capabilities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define future-state processes and technical solutions.

Enterprise Integration Architecture

  • Define API-first architecture using REST, SOAP, Platform Events, and Streaming APIs.
    • Architect integrations with: Core Banking Platforms, Payment Systems,KYC/AML Solutions,Identity Verification Platforms,Data Lakes, Reporting Platforms, Third-party FinTech Services
  • Work with middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, and similar technologies.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide leadership to Salesforce developers, technical leads, and integration engineers. Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and architecture governance sessions. Mentor development teams on Salesforce architecture patterns and best practices.Drive solution quality, security, scalability, and performance.

Security, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure Salesforce solutions align with FCA-regulated banking requirements.
  • Design secure authentication and authorization models.
  • Implement data protection and audit requirements.
  • Support compliance with GDPR, operational resilience, and regulatory obligations.

DevOps & Platform Engineering

  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
  • Drive Salesforce DX adoption and automated deployments.
  • Define environment management strategies across Sandbox, UAT, and Production.

AI & Innovation

  • Evaluate Salesforce AI, Agentforce, Einstein, and automation opportunities.
  • Define AI-enabled customer service and operational workflows.

Support future innovation initiatives across the Salesforce ecosystem. 

Skill Requirements

Required Experience

Essential

  • 12+ years of CRM and enterprise application experience with 7+ years of Salesforce architecture and implementation experience.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale Salesforce transformations, Banking, Financial Services, Payments, or FinTech environments.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Apex,Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Integration Architecture, Enterprise APIs, Data Modelling, Security Architecture,

Mandatory Technical Skills
