About this role

Job Description 

Role Purpose

The Placement Manager drives the overall placement strategy to ensure strong employment outcomes for students. The role focuses on building corporate partnerships, preparing students for careers, executing placement drives, and achieving weekly/monthly placement targets while maintaining compliance and stakeholder satisfaction.


Reporting Structure

  • Reports To: BU Head
  • Span: Placement Team / Placement Executives

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Corporate Relations

  • Develop and execute placement strategies aligned with institutional goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with 500+ recruiters across sectors
  • Identify new hiring partners and increase employer participation annually
  • Represent the institution at conferences, networking events, and recruitment drives
  • Leverage alumni and industry networks to enhance opportunities

Student Training & Preparation

  • Provide career counseling and placement support for 1000+ students annually
  • Conduct workshops on resumes, interviews, aptitude, and professional skills
  • Organize mock interviews, assessments, and career development plans
  • Improve student employability through structured training programs

Placement Operations

  • Manage the complete placement lifecycle (application to offer)
  • Plan and execute campus/virtual drives, job fairs, and recruitment events
  • Track student and recruiter data via ELITE/placement systems
  • Ensure smooth logistics, fair processes, and timely closures
  • Negotiate offers and resolve placement-related issues

Data, Reporting & Governance

  • Monitor placement statistics, salary trends, and outcomes
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for stakeholders
  • Collect feedback to continuously improve services
  • Ensure compliance with policies, ethics, and labor regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate placement records

  • Achieve monthly/weekly placement targets
  • Strengthen recruiter partnerships and industry engagement
  • Deliver high student employability and satisfaction
  • Ensure seamless, compliant placement operations

  • ≥ 70% placement rate
